Heartland Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area

Who we are

Established in 2009 to facilitate a network for land managers to address the growing threat of invasive non-native species in west-central portion of Florida. This effort is building on the success of the Lake Wales Ridge Ecosystem Working Group (LWREWG). The LWREWG currently has an existing Invasives Sub-Committee that will provide support for creating an invasive species management area for this region.

Counties: Polk, Highlands, Hardee, Desoto
