[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”About Us!” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The First Coast Invasive Working Group (FCIWG) is a Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) that was established in December 2006 to work across Federal, State, Local, and private lands for invasive species management. \u00a0The FCIWG is one of the many statewide regional partnerships that is helping the State of Florida prevent and control invasive species.<\/p>\n

The FCIWG has focused its resources in the five northeast Florida county area of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties. The region includes key natural areas stretching from the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and the St. Marys watershed to the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve. The five county area allows the FCIWG to manage at a scale large enough for viable early detection and rapid response control efforts while remaining manageable.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Co-Chairs:<\/b><\/p>\n
