{"id":2858,"date":"2026-01-30T15:54:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-30T15:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.floridainvasives.org\/heartland\/?p=2858"},"modified":"2026-01-30T15:54:17","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T15:54:17","slug":"deluca-preserve-bioblitz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.floridainvasives.org\/heartland\/2026\/01\/30\/deluca-preserve-bioblitz\/","title":{"rendered":"DeLuca Preserve Bioblitz"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dear fellow naturalist,\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please mark your calendars for the 5th Annual DeLuca Bioblitz, taking place on Friday, March 6th, 2026, at the University of Florida\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/aeFRumrWyMXXYZkG6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DeLuca Preserve in Osceola County<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As with last year, the Bioblitz will run for 24 hours on March 6th, offering opportunities to explore the preserve by day and night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Registration will open in January 2026, but you can add your name to the interested parties list now to receive updates and be notified directly when registration opens: <a href=\"https:\/\/ufl.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_43iizXgp34vOiJU?Q_CHL=qr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/ufl.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_43iizXgp34vOiJU?Q_CHL=qr<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additional details:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All levels of experience are welcome, from first-time participants to seasoned naturalists.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The event will include a short orientation, field exploration throughout the preserve in small groups, and a brief check-out session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New this year, we are excited to announce a partnership with the Florida Chapter of The Wildlife Society to offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for professional participants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Limited camping will be available the night before (March 5th) and the night of the Bioblitz (March 6th).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To get a sense of what to expect, you can view results from last year\u2019s Bioblitz here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/2025-uf-deluca-bioblitz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.inaturalist.org\/projects\/2025-uf-deluca-bioblitz<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We look forward to building on the success of past years and making this the most surveyed piece of land by citizen scientists in Florida!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please see (and share!) <a href=\"https:\/\/fltws.org\/s\/Save_the_date_deluca_bioblitz-2026.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the attached flyer<\/a> and stay tuned for registration details in January.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All the best,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Corey<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Corey T.
