Florida Park Service<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Florida Park Service is committed to its mission of providing resource-based recreation while preserving, interpreting, and restoring our natural and cultural resources. This includes protecting our natural communities throughout state parks from non-native invasive species. Through surveying, monitoring, training, treatment, tracking, and outreach we work together to create treatment goals and meet those objectives each year in order to track new infestations and eradicate existing ones. We work alongside non-profit, volunteers, local communities and other environmental agencies to keep invasive species from degrading our native areas through special events and educational programs.<\/p>\n

The Longleaf Alliance<\/strong><\/h3>\n

GCPEP is a public and private landowner partnership based in northwest Florida and south Alabama.\u00a0 The 16 partners collaborate on conservation projects including the control of invasive species such as cogongrass, Chinese tallow tree, Japanese climbing fern, Chinese privet, mimosa, and calorie pear.\u00a0 The Longleaf Alliance and other GCPEP partners are members of the Six Rivers CISMA and support their outreach, education, prevention, and control efforts with invasive species.<\/p>\n

Florida Natural Areas Inventory<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The mission of the Florida Natural Areas Inventory (FNAI) is to collect, interpret, and disseminate ecological information critical to conserving Florida’s biodiversity. A critical role in this mission is understanding and anticipating the effects invasive plant species on resource management in Florida. FNAI surveys for invasive plants, assesses invasive plant control projects, and provides training in invasive plant identification. FNAI collaborates with the Florida Invasive Species Partnership (FISP) and CISMAs throughout the state. Through FNAI\u2019s engagement with all partners, we continually learn about and provide outreach about invasive plant impacts and management practices across the state.
