What is a CISMA?
Cooperative Invasive Species Management Areas (CISMAs) are partnerships between stakeholders focused on addressing the impact of invasive species in their region.
CISMAs work to:
- Form cooperative partnerships between federal, state, local, and tribal agencies, private organizations, and individuals interested in invasive species management
- Expand management efforts across the landscape, rather than stopping at political or property boundaries
- Address prevention, early detection and rapid response, monitoring, management, and education and awareness of invasive species

Southwest Florida CISMA’s mission is to leverage the combined knowledge and resources of our federal, state, local, tribal, non-profit, and private partners to combat the spread of invasive and non-native species across Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hendry, and Glades Counties.
