Heartland CISMA’s fearless leader since its inception in 2009, Cheryl Millett (The Nature Conservancy), passed the torch to Julie Vogel (City of Lakeland) and Shannon Carnevale (UF/IFAS Extension Polk County) at the May meeting. Although neither new co-chair was able to be at the meeting, Cheryl had discussed the role with them previously.

It has been a privilege and a pleasure to be your chair and we’re fortunate to have new capable hands taking the Heartland CISMA forward.

Julie and Shannon are in the midst of planning the next meeting for the Steering Committee. If you are a member of the Steering Committee please check your email for an email from Julie. This next meeting will be an important one to attend as the Steering Committee will be planning the meeting dates for the rest of 2022.
