Galaxy Sand Pine Scrub Preserve Weed Wrangle
I want to share a a big THANK YOU to all of you for helping yesterday be a very successful Weed Wrangle at the Galaxy Sand Pine Scrub Preserve, in support of National Invasive Species Awareness Week (or month)! My thanks for the support of the City of Boynton Beach, the Palm Beach County School District, the teachers and students at Galaxy Elementary, and all the volunteers from the Everglades and Treasure Coast CISMAs, including several AmeriCorps volunteers with District 5 DEP, SFWMD, USFWS, PBC ERM, Sierra Club and others. Thanks also for a wonderfully engaging tortoise presentation for all the children by Michelle Metzler, Youth Environmental Alliance and Mike Kakalow, FWC. It would not have been possible without everyone’s wonderful energy and teamwork! It’s days like that that helps us carry the positive energy forward!! 😊 ❤ Please share this with other members of your teams that joined us. THANKS!!
Digging up Sansevieria/snake plant is tough work and I greatly appreciate the effort and positive energy that you all displayed, and sharing your expertise. An extra shout out to Bill Thomas and the FWS team who also removed invasive plants at the Barton Memorial Park nearby.
